Detectives in Nairobi have uncovered new CCTV clips that shed light on the final movements of Festus Oromo, the man who died after falling from the 14th floor of an apartment block in Kilimani.

The details, which investigators shared after reviewing hours of footage, help piece together what happened inside room B1406 before the fatal fall.

According to investigators, the interest in the case grew after earlier reports, including the first account shared by our newsroom, highlighted gaps in the initial explanation of the incident.

Following that coverage, detectives began a deeper review of security material from the building.

The newly released footage starts on the night of November 28, 2025. Oromo is seen walking normally into the apartment on the 14th floor.

Nothing in his body language suggests distress or trouble. Inside the apartment was a man identified as Julius.

About twelve minutes later, at 4:19am, a man believed to be a delivery rider appears at the door. He dresses fully in black and has a scarf covering part of his face.

He hands over a small package to Julius and walks away almost immediately. Detectives say the delivery is now part of their investigation.

Everything remains calm until later that night. At around 1:06am, another man identified as Patrick, who is now in police custody, steps out of the apartment.

He stays outside for a short moment before going back inside. He is dressed casually, carrying a tan-brown bag.

Minutes later, at 1:13am, Patrick returns to the hallway with Festus Oromo beside him.

The two appear relaxed. Oromo has his hand on Patrick’s shoulders, and Patrick is holding a drink. They speak briefly and then leave the door area together.

However, in what detectives describe as “rapid and confusing movements,” the footage shows Patrick coming back alone shortly after, now dressed differently in a vest, shorts, and sandals. He heads directly toward the lift.

Oromo reappears at 1:15am, this time alone. He knocks on the apartment door, walks toward the lift area, then returns and enters the room at 1:16am.

What happens next is the moment detectives believe changed everything.

The camera catches a physical confrontation at the doorway involving Oromo and a woman identified as Lillian Mbeki. She is one of the suspects now being held by police.

The two appear to be struggling before the door closes. From that point, the cameras outside the apartment can no longer see what is happening inside.

Forty-one minutes later, at exactly 1:57am, another camera at ground level captures the devastating end. Oromo’s body falls onto the roof of a white car parked below.

Security guards rush toward the vehicle but find him unresponsive.

Police officers from Kilimani arrived shortly afterward and declared the scene a suspected homicide pending forensic results.

Both Patrick and Lillian were arrested and will remain in custody for two weeks as investigations continue.

Oromo’s family has since moved his body from City Mortuary to John Kago Mortuary as they seek answers about what really happened inside room B1406.
