Senator Ledama Fumes After Being Told He Changes Opinion More Often Than He Changes His Underwear

Senator Ledama ole Kina launched a furious rebuttal on X this Sunday after a popular political blogger accused him of flip-flopping more frequently “than he changes his underwear.”

The sharp exchange began when the blogger, known for his biting commentary, questioned the Narok senator’s consistency, pointing to his shifting positions on the Adani airport deal, coffee sector reforms, and recent comments on devolution funding.

“Ledama today says one thing, tomorrow the opposite. Underwear gets changed more predictably,” the post read, attracting thousands of reactions.

In a lengthy thread that quickly went viral, Senator ole Kina hit back hard. “For eight straight years, I have called out the same corrupt cartels looting North Eastern Kenya and neglecting basic infrastructure.

"That is not flip-flopping—that is refusing to be bought,” he wrote.

He accused critics of recycling old screenshots to distract from what he called “tribal fear-mongering” by certain politicians ahead of the 2027 elections.

The senator further warned that such personal attacks only deepen ethnic divisions and scare away genuine investors from marginalized regions.

Supporters flooded the replies with solidarity messages, while opponents shared 2023 clips of his earlier statements on Somali business repatriation to fuel the debate.

Political analysts say the episode highlights the increasingly toxic tone of Kenya’s pre-election discourse, where personal insults now routinely overshadow policy discussion.
