According to Amisi, the party is now under the control of individuals who lack proper leadership skills, and this is preventing Raila from resting in peace.
Amisi specifically criticized the appointment of Oburu Odinga as the party leader, describing it as unconstitutional.
He emphasized that the party’s rules required a proper Conference of National Delegates (NDC) to elect a leader.
Skipping this process, he said, undermines the party’s constitution and sets a dangerous precedent for the future.
“The ODM party was built on principles and structures meant to protect its legacy and the voice of its members.
Ignoring these processes is unfair to the party and to Raila’s memory,” Amisi said.
He added that the lack of adherence to internal democratic procedures risks creating divisions among members and could weaken the party’s standing nationally.
Amisi’s statements reflect growing unease among some party members who feel that the leadership transition after Raila’s passing has been rushed and improperly managed.
He warned that such actions might lead to internal conflicts, affecting the party’s ability to function effectively ahead of upcoming political events.
While the party has tried to maintain unity, Amisi argues that ignoring the constitutionally mandated procedures shows a lack of respect for Raila’s vision.
He called on ODM leaders to return to the proper processes, including organizing the NDC, to ensure that leadership changes are legitimate and widely accepted by all members.
