Fred Matiang’i has emphatically declared that his political party stands out as the only party in Kenya with experience in running the government, contrasting it with others that have never held the reins of power.

Speaking during a recent political gathering, Matiang’i stressed that governance experience is crucial in shaping policies and steering the country toward stability and development.

According to Matiang’i, experience in leadership equips a party with practical knowledge of handling national challenges, managing public resources, and implementing policies that directly impact the citizens.

“We are the only party that has run government; others have never run government,” he stated.

Matiang’i further criticized opposition parties for what he described as rhetoric-driven politics, suggesting that their lack of exposure to governance processes limits their ability to deliver sustainable solutions to the country’s pressing issues.

He emphasized that running a government requires more than campaign promises; it demands a deep understanding of the machinery of the state, fiscal management, and strategic planning.

Political analysts say Matiang’i’s remarks reflect a growing trend among ruling party officials to highlight governance experience as a key advantage ahead of upcoming elections.

They note that this narrative is often used to reassure voters that continuity under experienced leadership is preferable to handing power to parties with limited or no governance track record.

Matiang’i concluded by urging Kenyans to consider the practical achievements of parties that have governed the country when making electoral decisions.

He framed experience as not just a political talking point but as an essential factor in ensuring national progress, stability, and the effective delivery of services to all citizens.
