Jubilee Party’s 2027 presidential candidate, Fred Matiang’i, recently met with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya to discuss political alignments as Kenya heads toward the next general election.

The meeting, held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, focused on the shared vision of restoring good leadership and addressing the country’s challenges.

Taking to social media, Matiang’i said the discussions reaffirmed the strong friendship and working relationship between the two leaders, both of whom are part of the United Opposition.

“We reflected on the challenges facing the Kenya Kwanza regime and emphasized the need for accountable leadership and effective management of our country,” Matiang’i noted.

“We further reiterated the importance of working together as Opposition leaders to rescue Kenya from its current economic difficulties.”

The meeting brought together several leaders from Trans Nzoia County, members of the County Assembly, and other political figures from across party lines.

United Opposition head of secretariat, Mukhisa Kituyi, and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka were also present.

Governor Natembeya described the meeting as warm and productive. He said it provided an opportunity to reflect on the time he and Matiang’i spent serving together at the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

“Our discussions centered on our shared vision for a people-focused Kenya, guided by integrity, effective leadership, and dedicated public service,” Natembeya said.

He added that reconnecting with Matiang’i rekindled both memories and ideals that continue to guide their commitment to serving the public.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, Matiang’i also challenged the youth to take a leading role in reshaping Kenya’s leadership agenda.

Speaking on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, he urged young people to have open access to leaders and actively engage in discussions on how to get the country moving again.

He emphasized that youth participation is crucial for building a transparent, accountable, and responsive government.
