United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar recently led grassroots election sensitisation activities in Nyandarua County as the party prepares for its upcoming internal polls.

The elections are scheduled for January 10, 2026, and will take place in 20 counties across Kenya.

The sensitisation exercise was held at Miharati Catholic Church in Kipipiri Constituency. According to UDA, the initiative is part of a broader nationwide programme aimed at educating party members about the electoral process and encouraging active participation.

“UDA Secretary General Sen Hassan Omar attended the Nyandarua County pre-party grassroots election sensitisation exercise at Miharati Catholic Church, Kipipiri Constituency, ahead of the January 10 polls in 20 counties,” the party said in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The exercise marked the closing stages of a three-week campaign carried out across the 20 counties slated for internal elections.

UDA explained that the sessions were designed to help supporters understand how the elections will be conducted, including the roles available at different levels of party leadership, and to encourage fair and transparent participation.

During the event, UDA National Elections Board Member Halake Dida oversaw proceedings while Secretary General Hassan Omar called on Kenyans to move beyond tribal tendencies and embrace inclusivity.

He emphasized that collective progress is achievable when members unite and work together, reflecting the values championed by President William Ruto.

The Nyandarua meeting also brought together several national and county party officials, demonstrating the importance UDA places on strengthening its grassroots structures.

Party leaders engaged directly with supporters, addressing their questions about the electronic voting process and the roles they could take at polling stations.

UDA National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi thanked Nyandarua residents for their continued support, while Executive Director Nicodemas Bore commended the County Woman Representative, Hon. Faith Wairimu, for her dedication to party activities and efforts to engage citizens at the grassroots.

The exercise offered party members a platform to reflect on developments in the county and discuss strategies for party growth. Participants were encouraged to actively seek leadership positions and play a role in guiding UDA’s future direction.

The three-week educational campaign also highlighted the region’s development achievements under President Ruto’s government. Leaders praised efforts to improve the county’s road network, noting that such progress had been limited under previous administrations.

They described the improved infrastructure as a key factor in enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth.
