ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has declared he will not be swayed from his political position ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Amid rising tensions within the party, the Nairobi Senator reaffirmed his refusal to back President William Ruto’s re-election and said he is prepared to face anyone who challenges him.

During an interview on #NTVTonight, Sifuna insisted he does not fear anyone, rejecting suggestions that his criticism of the government could threaten his party role.

He stressed that ODM was built on principles of accountability and speaking truth to power.

Sifuna has been outspoken against the Ruto administration on issues such as taxes, the cost of living, and governance, particularly following public protests over rising food prices.

He dismissed reports of internal plots to remove him, saying party leadership should not suppress dissent and must stay connected to the needs of ordinary citizens.

His stance has sparked mixed reactions: supporters commend his boldness, while critics accuse him of fostering division.

Analysts view the standoff as indicative of ODM’s internal struggles as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
