President William Ruto has made fresh diplomatic appointments, strengthening Kenya’s foreign missions in Europe and the region.

The changes were announced on Friday as part of Presidential Action No. IV of 2026.

This follows Cabinet approval for the establishment of a full Kenyan mission in Denmark, a move aimed at deepening bilateral ties between the two countries.

The nomination of Ole Kibelekenya has been forwarded to the National Assembly for parliamentary vetting and approval.

Once cleared, he will become Kenya’s first full ambassador to Denmark under the new mission framework.

In the same announcement, President Ruto appointed three Deputy Ambassadors to serve in strategic postings.

Elias Bare Shill was named Deputy Ambassador to Mogadishu, Somalia, a role expected to support Kenya’s diplomatic and security engagement in the Horn of Africa.

Ambassador Dr Joseph Warui was redeployed to Moscow, Russia, where he will serve as Deputy Ambassador.

His appointment comes at a time when Kenya continues to balance diplomatic relations amid shifting global dynamics.

The President also appointed Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Nur as Deputy Ambassador to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The posting is expected to enhance cooperation between Kenya and Tanzania, especially in trade, regional integration, and cross-border development initiatives.
