President William Ruto today criticised the opposition, saying they have no clear plan for the country and are only focused on calling for his removal from office.
Speaking in Mombasa during the launch of the Nyota Fund, the President said opposition leaders have failed to tell Kenyans what they would do if they were elected in 2027.
He argued that simply saying they want him out of power is not enough to win the support of voters.
“Their only message is that they want Ruto out. That is not a plan,” the President said.
He added that Kenyans, especially the youth, want leaders who can explain how they will create jobs and improve people’s lives.
Ruto said young people and Kenyans in general will not vote for leaders who lack clear ideas and solutions.
He expressed confidence that voters will choose leaders based on what they can deliver, not on political noise.
The President also spoke about the Nyota Fund, saying it is meant to help young people access affordable loans to start and grow businesses.
He said his government is focused on supporting the youth, small traders and ordinary Kenyans through practical programmes.
He told the crowd that his administration is working hard to grow the economy and create more opportunities across the country.
According to Ruto, development and service delivery remain the government’s main focus.
During the event, the President urged Kenyans to ignore what he called negative politics and instead support development efforts.
He said the youth understand their needs and will not be misled by leaders who only talk without offering solutions.
The launch of the Nyota Fund in Mombasa was part of the President’s visit to the Coast region, where he has been promoting government projects aimed at improving livelihoods.
Ruto said his government will continue rolling out programmes to support young people and ensure economic growth as the country heads towards the 2027 elections.
