Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Thursday arrived in Kigumo Constituency, Murang’a County, to attend the burial service of Mama Jane Wanjiku Kamau.

The solemn gathering brought together family members, friends, and residents who turned out in large numbers to support the bereaved family during the difficult moment.

Matiang’i joined other leaders from the united opposition, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Attorney General Justin Muturi, and NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua.

Their presence reflected a shared show of solidarity and respect for the family of the late Mama Jane.

The leaders were received by local elders and community members before proceeding to the burial venue.

The mood at the service was calm and reflective, with prayers and hymns offering comfort to the family.

In his message, Matiang’i conveyed sympathy to the family and called on Kenyans to stand together during times of loss.

He emphasized the importance of unity, compassion, and prayer when families face grief.

He noted that moments of mourning remind the nation of shared humanity and the need to support one another beyond political differences. The leaders stood side by side, signaling togetherness and mutual respect.
