The deceased, identified as Sifael Christopher Mollel, popularly known as Baba Chriss, had been missing for several days after leaving home on Sunday, May 3, and failing to return.
According to relatives, the 58-year-old father had no known medical condition or conflict with anyone, making his sudden disappearance deeply troubling for the family.
His phone reportedly rang for several days without being answered, prompting relatives to launch a desperate search across hospitals, police stations, and nearby neighbourhoods.
The matter was later reported to Central Police Station as concern over his whereabouts intensified.

The search took a tragic turn on Sunday, May 10, after residents from the Njiro Ndogo area informed local leaders about a strong smell coming from a locked house.
Emanuel Joseph, the chairman of Muriety Estate in Sokone One Ward, said he immediately contacted police officers before heading to the scene with local residents.
Upon arrival, officers reportedly broke into the house and discovered a badly decomposed body inside. The remains were later transferred to Muriety Health Centre Mortuary for preservation and identification.
Joseph explained that the body had swollen significantly, making it difficult to identify the deceased immediately.
However, investigations later revealed that the house had allegedly been rented by a witchdoctor, adding another layer of mystery to the incident.
Residents initially suspected the deceased could have been the tenant after a bottle, locally referred to as “tunguli” or “kibuyu,” was reportedly found near the body.
It was only after family members visited the mortuary that they confirmed the deceased was indeed Baba Chriss, ending days of painful uncertainty.
Authorities have not yet established the cause of death, and police investigations are ongoing to determine how the missing father ended up inside the house and whether foul play was involved.
The incident has shocked residents in the area, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The tragedy has also reignited conversations around unexplained disappearances, public safety, and the emotional toll families endure while searching for missing loved ones.
