Fresh details have emerged in the murder investigation of Julius Ndumia Ngari after a postmortem examination revealed that the cleric was allegedly tortured while restrained before his death.

According to government pathologist Titus Ngulungu, the slain pastor suffered severe head and neck injuries caused by a blunt object during the brutal attack.

The examination further established that Reverend Ndumia’s hands and legs had been tied together before he was assaulted, suggesting he may have been overpowered and restrained by his attackers.

Dr Ngulungu revealed that the pastor sustained multiple deep wounds on both the front and back sections of the head, including a major injury at the back of the skull that resulted in serious brain damage and skull fractures.

The postmortem findings also showed injuries on the front part of the neck, raising suspicions that pressure or force may have been applied to restrict breathing during the attack.

Additionally, the body reportedly showed signs of internal bleeding and visible marks on the limbs, strengthening the conclusion that the victim had been tied up during the assault.

The killing occurred within the compound of Presbyterian Church of East Africa Tabuga Parish in Lanet during the early hours of May 4.

The shocking nature of the murder has continued to generate public outrage and concern among residents, religious leaders, and political figures.

Family members broke their silence days after the incident, describing the slain pastor as a devoted servant of God and a respected community figure.

Francis Mwangi said the family appreciated the professionalism shown during the postmortem process and thanked investigators handling the case.

He also appealed to security agencies to intensify investigations and ensure everyone responsible for the killing is brought to justice.

The incident has renewed concerns over rising insecurity in Bahati Constituency, where local leaders say cases of violent crime have become increasingly worrying.

Irene Njoki described the murder as disturbing and called for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the pastor’s death.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations continue gathering forensic evidence and pursuing suspects linked to the case as the community awaits justice.
